For the past 30+ years, CJ’s focus has been on telling the story behind the food --- with her cookbooks, recipes, photography, food articles and TV show, the Wheatland Café (CTV), which recently wound down after 18 seasons. She is the chef owner of Momentum Cafe, hidden gem in Regina. Located inside the sunny atrium at Innovation Place (10 Research Dr), you’ll be greeted to good old fashioned service, incredible lattes, hand-crafted baking and creative lunches.

During COVID-19, CJ released her second cookbook – ONE LOAF AT A TIME/ONE BOWL AT A TIME: The Recipes that Brought Us Together While We Remained Apart During COVID-19. The cookbook became a Canadian best-seller and earned 11 international awards. Her first cookbook, TASTE: Seasonal Dishes from a Prairie Table, (in which Over the Hill Orchards is featured) also became a Canadian best seller, won the World Gourmand Cookbook Award for Best First Cookbook (English Canada) and was shortlisted for the Taste Canada Cookbooks Awards in 2013. CJ is a food and BBQ judge, has written for national newspapers and magazines, and was a long-time consultant to Air Canada’s enRoute Magazine.

About Supper in the Orchard

The event begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) overlooking the beautiful valley, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage. Attendees are seated indoors beside large picture windows where the owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, briefly discuss the history of the orchard and introduce the chef(s) for the evening. Between courses a 30-minute tour of the orchard is offered (weather permitting). Supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m.
