Supper In the Orchard with Chef Chris Torjusen – May 30th

Chris was born and raised in regina and his interest in food started with both his parents and grandmothers gardens. Gardening and fresh produce was a highlight growing up and fostered his love for food early. He worked at Danbrys(now crave) in high school until he attended SIAST in Moose Jaw. Upon completion he worked as an apprentice at the willow on wascana under chef Moe Matheiu. He worked in a variety of restaurants over the new few years including sous chef at moxies, Ayden kitchen and bar in Saskatoon and was the sous chef at Flip Eatery and Drink for 3 years, the head chef at Malt City, and now head chef at Avenue restaurant. Chris’s biggest passion is butchery, charcuterie and Italian food, especially pasta. He is a big vocal fan of supporting as much local producers as possible and use local and fresh and the farmers market for a lot of various things on his menu.
