DESCRIPTION:Join us at Over the Hill Orchards and Winery for Supper in the Orchard featuring Chef Jenni Lessard, a chef and culinary consultant, hails from the boreal forest near La Ronge, Northern Saskatchewan, and currently resides in Lumsden, near Regina. As a member of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan, she serves as the interim Executive Director of the Indigenous Culinary of Associated Nations.\nJenni’s culinary journey began at the age of eight, and she ventured into entrepreneurship early, opening a hamburger stand at her local airport at 14. After a stint in the Rocky Mountains, she began selling soup and baking at a farmer’s market in Prince Albert, SK. In 2005, Jenni established New Ground Cafe’ in Birch Hills, SK, offering Fair Trade coffee and a menu spotlighting local and Indigenous ingredients. Her success led to the expansion of the cafe’, featuring local art and live music. In 2012, Jenni moved to Saskatoon and founded Chef Jenni Cuisine, a catering company. In 2019, she made history as the first Indigenous and female executive chef at Wanuskewin Heritage Park near Saskatoon.\nCurrently, with Inspired by Nature Culinary Consulting, Jenni crafts menus and recipes for various organizations, emphasizing ingredient harvesting during the summer months from the land.\nAbout Supper in the Orchard\nThe event begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) overlooking the beautiful valley, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage. Attendees are seated indoors beside large picture windows where the owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, briefly discuss the history of the orchard and introduce the chef(s) for the evening. Between courses a 30-minute tour of the orchard is offered (weather permitting). Supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m.\n\n
