Ashley2025-02-11 08:48:102025-02-11 09:18:25Celebrating 25 Years of Over the Hill Orchards & Winery: A Journey Rooted in PassionWe are Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer.
We have always been fruit lovers; Deanโs earliest memories was of picking saskatoons. Sylvia remembers wading through the river to get to the wild blueberry patch up north. But honestly, isnโt that about all the tree fruit we think we can grow here in Saskatchewan?
It was quite a revelation when we toured a local garden centre for some flowers when we came upon Apricots, Plums, Apples and Pears! We asked the salesperson the question we now hear most from our customers, โWe can grow these here?โ

Within the last year we moved to Regina from the NWT. Our friends from the Vancouver area were planning a visit earlier in August so we looked up things to do. We found "dinner at the Over the Hill Orchard and Winery " and thought that sounds lovely. It was a beautiful night (August 8) with delicious food, amazing scenery, educational tour and yummy drinks (wine, sangria and cherry spritzer). I suggest the Orchard put 1 chocolate covered cherry for every place setting. That would entice sales. I would definitely recommend this dinner/tour opportunity. We will be back! :)Posted on Google

We had a gift card for a picnic. We were very pleased having never been to the orchard. Lelu the cat was a sweetheart! The included charcuterie was yummy and very generous in cheeses. We asked if there was any room for 2 more for supper, even though they were sold out they did manage to make room for us. Obviously, I would make every effort to get a reservation next time. But for them to just fold us in was incredible. We were taken on a tour and the owner was entertaining, knowledgeable and humble. His MO is noble, he is trying to make a bright future for his family and Saskatchewan in general. We would love to come back and visit again! Thank you so much for having us! Food review: the watermelon salad was a big surprise! Basil, watermelon, lemon, mint. Lots of flavour punches in every bite! The lamb kefta was also delicious. I'm not a huge fan of beets but they were delicious. The Lebanese garlic sauce was my favorite- I actually convinced them to let me take some home. I've been eating it like apple sause and know I'm safe from all the local vampires for at least a week. The braised chicken was cooked so well, so flavorful! The bread was crunchy and soft and seasoned well. I wish there was more of everything to eat because chef & crew did a great job. I didn't think I'd enjoy the tuneric desert, but it was also a great ending surprise to the night. Id liken it to an exotic pumpkin cake flavor wise. Very happy! Obviously I wish the views at the picnic didn't have a fence in between us and them, but I understand the safety need. Some umbrellas or shade triangles, some couch seating and a fire table or 2 would bring out the best in their patio, they can do so much more with it! But who know what ideas they are cooking :) Lastly the charcuterie could have used a crunch, pickles, pickled carrots, apple slice, pretzels maybe. It WAS delicious as is, but I missed that salty, crunchy aspect. But I'd still get it again :) Cheers!
